ant articles

Two recent articles from IBM about the Java build tool Ant: Automating the build and test process and Chapter 5 of the book Java Tools for Extreme Programming.

square USA

Here's a nice geek-heavy article about how Square USA (the digital effects company behind Final Fantasy) built a production system in LISP on top of an Object-Oriented Database System.

securing BIND

Great article on running the BIND 9 name server securely. It discusses how to setup a chroot'ed server on Solaris, and how to setup some of the crypto features of the server.

cisco faq

The FAQ for the Usenet group comp.dcom.sys.cisco has a metric ton of useful information for network engineers.

Project DOTU

Project DOTU is a web site listing undocumented commands in the Cisco IOS operating system. Some of the commands aren't all that useful (unless you're a Cisco software engineer), but some I can see coming in very handy.

ipod

Interesting article from Electronics Design Chain Magazine on the history of the Apple iPod MP3 player, and the process by which it was designed and built. I really, *really* want one, but there's no way I can afford it any time soon.
